Sean’s 67 Cougar
This Cougar and it’s driver Sean are the quintessential sleepers. If you ever see this good old boy from the foothills tooling along, probably best not to challenge. Sean was Mike Maier’s first driver instructor in 1994. At the time Sean was racing ESP in SCCA before moving up to BP as well as GT1 road racing. Winning the SCCA solo nationals as well as local GT1 events definitely set the tone for form following function. Sean commissioned Mike for the suspension components as well as a mutual friend, general badass Curt Hill to assemble this Cougar.
Sean honestly bought the parts because of the long friendship not truly knowing what exactly Mike was building for him. But that faith worked out. Once the car was delivered and Sean had the chance to tear it around, he had a eureka moment. He called up both Curt and Mike to say, “Holy crap this thing rips!” Then he went on to explain how he had no idea how much tuning he could do with his new MOD 2 front.
Needless to say we are proud to have made him happy. Also a big thanks to Hills Rod and custom for such great craftsmanship.
